LolaWell, let’s start from the beginning- there’s no better place to start!

My name is Lola Elizabeth Harmon and I’m Golden Bully- that’s a mix between a Pit Bull and Golden Retriever, of course. I’m clearly an example of the newest designer dog, at least that what Z & C, my Mum and Dad think. They happily tell me that I’ve taken on the best traits of both breeds, specifically my wonderfully fluffy, golden tail… and perhaps my playful demeanor! HA!

I think of Christmas Eve 2009 as the beginning, and I won’t bore you with the ugly details of my life before Pup Squad. Who likes to dwell on the unfortunate? Not me!  And don’t even mention those 8 puppies.  Cute enough, but ouch!

Mum and Dad welcomed me into their home when I had nothing more than a cute collar (pink polka dots!) and a squeaky hot dog to my name. It didn’t take long for me to charm the pants off of Dad (and him to try me out in camo…really??? a beautiful girl like me in CAMO?!), Mum was a little reluctant at first, but she’s clearly come around, hasn’t she!

I’m a former foster now living in the lap of luxury – what could be better!

Here’s your invitation to follow along as I periodically regale you with my home invasion stories. Let’s just say that I act as sort of an ambassador to the dogs coming in and out of the house. Some stick around for awhile and others move along quickly- either way, they all have their own story and I’m obliged give  them a firm once over.

I’ve had the same friends here for awhile now, but the last of the long term fosters (my fabulous BFF, Chula) just got adopted last week.  I know that I should be happy for her- her new house has a pool and another Pittie named Pebbles, but is it so wrong to want her back here with me? Pebbles…pshhh, does Pebbles have a fuzzy tail (or my sparkling wit)?!  didn’t think so.

There’s never a dull moment at my house- Mum and Dad just showed up with 2 new dogs this week and it’s not looking good for me: one bites and is operating under the (clearly incorrect) assumption that he’s king. The other’s a bit of a bore- she just won’t play with me! Some of these new dogs are a little slow on the up take..I’ll just have to try my best to stay patient. If I so much as let out a little, tiny, inconsequential growl- Mum is very quick to banish me to the crate. Once you get to know me- you’ll realize that I do NOT belong behind bars, and if I growl you better believe it’s warranted.

For now, I’m going to work on training the new ‘house guests’ and you can look forward to my next post featuring Lady and Lightening (they keep calling him Butch…awful name). I can’t help it that I’m a terrible gossip- I know you are too, sooo..check in with me every couple a weeks for the newest scoop!

Ciao!

Lola, I knew you were talented, but having your on column (or is it a blog)?

Either way, it’s great to hear your success stories about finding homes for your furry friends. Tina and Chula are both great ladies and they deserve to be just as happy as you are. (maybe they could post on your blog and tell us how they’re doing too)

    Love, Pops

    ps: I think “Butch” is a great name….for a dog !!
